Chapter one sneak peakHeavy rain drops pounded loudly against the window. London’s gray skies poured down with icy droplets; the city wrapped by a veil of ghastly mist, enveloping it with a gloomy air all too familiar to Londoners.
A young man pressed his forehead against the cold crystal window, closing his eyes and releasing a long, wistful sigh; his breath fogging up the glass.
The sound of the downpour had become a familiar lullaby, the drops sang to him in a way his absent mother never had, soothing him, making him drift away for a few heartbeats.
The crashing sound of thunder resounded in the distance, making him open his eyes widely.
